Fungal communities in Hawai’i are virtually unmapped and relatively unknown but fascinating worlds each their own. Hau is also a kinolau (physical manifestation) of Haumea , one of Hawaii’s Greatest Mothers and goddesses, having birthed Pele, among other deities.
